When the light spot of the monitor is dark

The light spot of the monitor of the autocollimator is darker than expected and it is difficult to measure.
Is there any countermeasures?

Adjust the light intensity with the LD volume of the auto collimator body.
If you can not adjust the reflected light image with the volume, adjust the camera shutter speed.
